THE SPCIS PORTFOLIO
During their time in the nursery, our educators create a so-called portfolio for your child. This is a folder in which your child’s skills and competences are recorded in a structured way.
A portfolio should help to record and visualize the strength and learning process of your child. It also makes the educational biography and development process of your child comprehensible.
The child’s diverse materials (pictures and handicrafts) are also accompanied by short reflections that contain, for example statements by your children about their works.
For educators, the portfolio offers the possibility to record the individual learning path in a comprehensible and descriptive way, whereby the child itself can recognize and reflect on its growth.
The porfolios are therefore of great importance to your child as well as the educators and parents.
The following goals are pursued in the portfolio work in the day care centre:
- Mapping personal interests and strengths
- To record learning processes
- lllustration of development
- Remembrance of past events
- A starting point for pedagogical planning
- Reflecting self-education processes
Your child is allowed to take their own portfolio home leaving S.P.C.I.S. and thus have a reminder of their nursery/ kindergarten time at S.P.C.I.S.
